Cinnamon Bun Waffles

Who, like myself, wants to fix the kids a nutritious breakfast in the mornings? Who needs it to be quick and easy? ME!! And I'm sure you do too. If you're like me, cereal is fine every now and then but you want something....better.

In comes the Cinnamon Bun Waffle!! I know what you're thinking--waffles?? That takes too long!
NOT ANYMORE!!

All you need is a can of cinnamon buns & a waffle iron. Simple enough??
I thought so.

Heat your waffle iron, place 2 cinnamon buns in (that's how many I do at a time) and close.
When the little light goes off, you have 2 cinnamon bun waffles!! VIOLA!!! Easy peasy!!

These are a BIG hit with my kids, and I'm sure they will be with your kids, too!!

When it's {SUPER} cold outside.....

What's better than baking cookies??

It came a NASTY weather day yesterday, and the kids were stuck inside. To the kids, being stuck inside and not being able to play with their friends is like taking a sugar addict in a candy store and telling them they can only look!

So, once I came home from work and we had supper, we watched a couple movies and decided we needed some sweets to snack on. So, in the kitchen we went and cookies we made!

We cheated a little....we used the Valentine's Funfetti cake mix for the base of our cookie dough.

{The ingredients are as pictured....a box of cake mix, 1/3 cup of oil, 2 eggs, and VIOLA! There's your cake dough!}

The kids got busy whipping up our dough....they're my little bakers in the making.

Once you get all the ingredients in the bowl, what do you do????

Why, MIX MIX MIX, of course! LOL!

They mixed they're little hearts out until the dough formed, and then it was time to scoop the dough into balls & pop them into the oven. They bake quickly...6-8 minutes.

Then there came the kids most FAVORITE part of the whole cookie baking process.....

FROSTING!!!

My bakers and their finished products!

This was definitely worth the $2.50 in ingredients & the messy kitchen that came with their baking. The kids had a blast and so did I. Not to mention, their cookies were reeeeallly good!

Are you part of the Sweet Tea Society??

Welcome!

Welcome to A Southern Kind of Lovin! If you're new to the blog, HEY!! If you've come from our old home, well, THANKS for following!!

If you are new, here's a little about me and my family!

I am Brittany. See, that’s me below! I am a 26 year old God fearing wife and momma of two!Image
I’m married to the man I’ve known since I was 12; Ray. That’s him below. Ain’t he cute?! We’ve been married for almost 8 years, but have been together for almost 9 years. He’s a great husband, daddy, and friend. He’s a little rough around the edges, but will give you the shirt off his back to help you out!

And then there’s my two loveable kids; Jeremy & Taylor. Jeremy is 6 years old and just a hoot. Everyone says when you talk to him, it’s like talking to an old man trapped in a little boys body. He’s so smart & kind hearted. That’s not to say he can’t get a temper in 0-60 like {THAT}! I say that’s courtesy of his daddy! :) And let’s not forget the princess of the house, Taylor. She just turned 5 in September. She’s total diva that loves {ANYTHING} girly. You name it, she loves it. She loves to snuggle and give you some big time lovin’. But don’t let her look’s deceive you…she’ll let that temper shine through in a quick second, too!

I hope you follow our family for the ride, and enjoy!
